Meet Cheryl & some helpful Notes

Dear CAMM Supporters,

Greetings in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  This is my first time communicating with all of you CAMM supporters as I serve as the new Contact Woman Coordinator for the CAMM Stateside Committee.  Let me introduce myself.  My name is Cheryl Valus and I previously served as the CAMM Stateside Committee Secretary.  I have served in my own area as a contact woman for 10 plus years and also been involved in LWMS as reporter, secretary, vice president and president of our circuit.  I am so thrilled to serve as the CW coordinator and look forward to getting to know many of you and keeping you informed on the latest news and updates from the CAMM committee and more importantly, the clinics and fields in Malawi and Zambia.  I would love to hear from you if there is anything else I can help provide you with that will make your service as the contact woman more informative, helpful and beneficial to the support of and knowledge about CAMM.

A very little about myself--I live in Swartz Creek, Michigan with my husband(who serves as the website coordinator for CAMM).  I am "retired" from being a dental hygienist and enjoy being active in our congregation, which is a mission congregation in Fenton, MI.  We have two children who are married with two granddaughters in each family.  Our daughter is married to a pastor and they serve congregations in Arizona and our son and his wife are teachers and are in MN but will be moving back to Michigan with a new call this summer .I love being involved with church organizations where we get to meet and know other WELS members from around the country.

Attached you will find the Spring letter that can be used at LWMS rallies coming up or distributed to your contact congregations, which ever manner is best suited for all to be reached.  With regard to LWMS, there will be a CAMM presentation/contact woman meeting at the LWMS National Convention in Green Bay this summer from June 21-24, 2018.  The meeting will be on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 4:30-5:30.  Watch in your convention binder or stop by the display booth to find out which room we will be meeting in.  I look so forward to meeting many of you in person there and getting to hear what we can do to better serve you.  Amanda Artz, our outgoing clinic administrator in Malawi will be there joining us and you will have the opportunity in person to hear about her service at the clinic.  Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting, so bring your friends with you to hear and learn about CAMM.

There are no new projects needed for the clinics at this time as the staff members transition on the field and on the committee.  With the CAMM budget at just over $300,000, projects that support financial donations are very much appreciated.

It is not too early to book a speaker for either an LWMS fall rally or a fall mission festival, ladies group meeting, etc.  Contact Linda Liesener at outreach.coordinator.camm@gmail.com or call 262-677-3844 to reserve your date.

Every contact woman is very vital and special to us and to the CAMM field.  Without each of you, CAMM could not fund the services that the Lutheran Mobile Clinic (Malawi) and the Lutheran Mission Rural Health Centre (Zambia) provide to the people of Africa.  You are truly the supportive arms and dedicated hearts for our mission.  Your faithful service is a gift from God and we give Him thanks and praise for each one of you.

Please feel free to reach out and contact me to introduce yourself or if you have any questions for me or if I can be of any help in any way.  I look forward to regular correspondences each month.  If you are able, please check out the CAMM facebook page or the CAMM website at www.camm.us which also has a link to the facebook page.  Current information can be found at both of these.

To Him who we praise and thank this Lenten season as He walks to Calvary for each one of our sins, be glory and honor as we serve Him through our love for CAMM.

In His Love,

Cheryl Valus
